It was a full house, on stage on off, in the Main Dining Room on Saturday night, August 20. The FCC’s very own Elaine Liu, photographer, bassist and jazz singer, was back with the Big Band sounds of the Happy-Go-Lucky Big Band.
Punching out the immortal sounds and songs created by Duke Ellington and his Cotton Club Jazz Orchestra in the early 1930s in the legendary Harlem club of the same name, Elaine and the Happy-Go-Lucky Big Band are a favourite of FCC members and rarely play to less that a full house.
Formed in 2010, the band comprises a full 17-piece jazz orchestra made up of an eclectic group of jazz enthusiasts from all walks-of-life and all ages. They regularly play at the Hong Kong Fringe Club, and major Hong Kong music and Jazz events in Hong Kong.
