Change in media is relentless. How can a global news agency evolve to stay relevant in the new media landscape? More video? Automating the writing of certain stories? Social media? User-generated content? Drone photography? With rapid changes taking place in the media landscape, the Associated Press shares insights to provoke thought, encourage discussion and share ideas on how it is transforming to adapt to these changes.

Lou Ferrara is a Vice President and Managing Editor at the AP. He oversees sports, entertainment and business news as well as the company’s social media efforts and recently announced automation initiative. Since joining the AP in 2005, he has helped lead the news outlet’s digital transformation. Most recently, he announced plans to automate the writing of corporate earnings reports for the AP services.
