MESSAGE TO SPONSORS - AID HONG KONG ORPHANS

On September 7, the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Hong Kong will host its first charity ball for the endowment of a new scholarship fund at Po Leung Kuk, one of Hong Kong's first orphanages.

With your help, the Foreign Correspondents' Club Scholarship Fund will enable young people from the orphanage to attend university in Hong Kong or overseas. Talented children from broken homes and no homes at all will be given the otherwise impossible dream of higher education.

The first ball, themed "Dancing in the Streets of Asia", will be held at the Conrad Hotel ballroom. Legendary Motown singer Martha Reeves, who with her backup group, the Vandellas, made Dancing in the Street, Nowhere to Run, Jimmy Mack, and many other songs modern classics the world over will be the featured performer. A choir of children from Po Leung Kuk will also sing, while a variety of street performers will provide entertainment. Décor will reflect famed streets and districts of Asia, such as Shanghai's Bund, Singapore's Boat Quay, Bangkok's Khao San Road and Tokyo's Roppongi.

In order to keep ticket prices below $1,000 per person, the Foreign Correspondents' Club needs help from corporate sponsors such as you. We intend to cover the cost of the event through the ticket price and hope to raise $500,000 through sales of raffle tickets at $20 each.

We are writing you to request help covering the cost of food and entertainment, and of course prizes to entice guests to buy raffle tickets. Donations are tax deductible and sponsors will receive publicity according to their level of sponsorship. Please see attached letter for details.

As the flagship event of the Foreign Correspondents' Club, the ball will attract leading members of the regional media, high-ranking executives from every industry as well as representatives from consulates and the Hong Kong government.

For more information on Po Leung Kuk see www.poleungkuk.org.hk For more information on sponsorship, please contact Marilyn Hood at 2982-6005 or email charityball@fcchk.org.

In advance, thank you for helping support this high profile and worthy event.

Sincerely,

Thomas Crampton and Dave Garcia
