Elegant, fresh, fruity aromas with fine spicy hints. Smooth, rich and crisp on the palate, with plenty of fruity flavors (apples and pineapples) and a touch of spice (fennel).
Gran Vina Sol Chardonnary 2007 $65
It is intensely aromatic and full-bodied, with a profusion of flowery notes over a fruity background (very ripe peaches) and a hint of fennel. On the palate the wine has a long aftertaste and is silky with an elegant fullness. A touch of vanilla in the finish is indicative of the wine’s short ageing in French oak.
Fransola Sauvignon Blanc 2007 $141
Intense voluptuous bouquet with aromatic notes of various fruits and plants (certain tropical fruits, the scent of fig trees in summer, touches of mint). On the palate the wine is round and full-bodied and has excellent structure. Elegant aftertaste with a citric edge.
Gran Coronas Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 $83
The rich, sensual aroma is typical of the grape varieties recalling small red and black berries (cherries and blackcurrants), green coffee beans, liquorices and the characteristic vanilla and leather notes from ageing. On the palate the wine is full and silky with dense, well-structured tannins.
Ibericos Rioja 2006 $88
Deep red cherry colour. On the nose, it reveals notes of forest fruits (blueberries and blackberries) balanced with dark-toasted notes from the wood. On the palate it has smooth tannins and fine fruity sensations.
Moscatel de Oro N.V. $77
Of a fine amberish colour, with dark topaz tints, it exhibits in all their splendor the fruity (orange blossom honey, candied orange, lemon peel, raisins), floral (rose, geranium, lily) and spiced (tobacco leaf, rosewood, clove) aromas of the Moscatel variety. On the palate it is a marvel of balance: its honeyed, perfumed sugars are set off by a fine fruity acidity.
