Challenges for Hong Kong courts

IMG_2534_副本On his second address to an FCC lunch in April, Justice Kemal Bokhary, Non-Permanent Judge, The Court of Final Appeal, said there were two fundamental challenges facing the Hong Kong courts: to deliver affordable and readily intelligible justice according to law without undue delay; and the courts to play their part in making the “one country, two systems” principle work. He noted that already – and perhaps far more so in the future – this would have to be done while the quest for democracy continued and in the midst of much social discontent.
