The filmmaker talked about “Moonlight “, his remarkable career and his upcoming new film. Andrew Hevia is a Cuban-American from Miami, Florida. He produced the three-time Academy Award-winning film Moonlight. The coming-of-age picture was also named “Best Drama” at the Golden Globes and won over 100 different awards from critics, festivals and special interest groups across the globe. Mr. Hevia has also produced numerous short films including “Chlorophyl “ for Academy Award-winning director Barry Jenkins and “When We Lived in Miami “ by Amy Seimetz. He is also a co-founder of Borscht Corp, the non-profit film collective behind the Borscht Film Festival. The speaker is a graduate of New World School of the Arts and the Film School at Florida State University. He earned a master’s degree on media entrepreneurship from Fordham University. Hevia was also a 2015-2016 Fulbright Fellow, which led him to Hong Kong a few years ago to film an art-themed documentary. |
