Over lunch, Mr. Deglise described and explained the differences between two sets of Old World and New World wines that he presented. Lunch guests tasted the four wines discussed and to guess which ones are French and which ones are Australian.
Since its establishment in Bordeaux in 1981, Vinexpo has been a leading organizer of events for the wine and spirits industry. Mr. Deglise has been Vinexpo’s Chief Executive since September 2013. Under his leadership, the brand Vinexpo has remained the European reference with its Bordeaux edition, and Vinexpo Hong Kong has established itself as the leader in Asia. Three new key events have also been created: Vinexpo Tokyo (since 2014), Vinexpo New York (launched in March 2018) and Vinexpo Paris (scheduled for 2020). Graduated from the Burgundy School of Business, Mr. Guillaume started his career in Champagne, first with Bollinger in 1998 and then for Laurent-Perrier in 2002. Mr. Deglise is 43 years old and speaks 5 languages. He has announced that this coming Hong Kong show would be his last, as he intends to return to the industry after five years with Vinexpo.
