A journey from Europe to China via the new Northeast Passage is about 40% shorter than the route via the Suez Canal. This provides a huge potential for minimizing the risk of piracy and for cost reductions as well. When will the Northern Sea Route become a regular commercial shipping lane?
Last year Felix TSCHUDI sent the first shipment of iron ore from Europe to China via this new trade route. He plans to send even more shipments the same way this summer.
