Christopher DILLON examines the process of buying a home in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Based on research for his new book, Landed China, Mr. DILLON will explain who is eligible to buy; outline the legal framework for home ownership; discuss the practical aspects of buying a home; and describe the opportunities, risks and quirks that define China’s property market.

Mr. DILLON is an award-winning writer and entrepreneur who has lived in Hong Kong for more than 20 years. In 2002, he bought and renovated a floor in an office building in Hong Kong’s Central business district. Since then, he has purchased and refurbished a luxury apartment on the west side of Hong Kong Island and transformed a derelict steam laundry into a multimedia studio. That experience inspired his first book, Landed Hong Kong. In 2010, he published his second book, Landed Japan.
