Michele DAVIS, former senior advisor to Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, will share her thoughts about the handling of the 2008 financial crisis and how the financial sector is faring today in terms of reputation and regulation. A Washington insider, Michele will also share her views on how China is being portrayed in the U.S. in the run-up to the November elections.
Michele DAVIS is a partner at Brunswick Group, a leading global strategic communications firm. She joined the firm in 2009 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. While at Treasury, as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and Director of Policy Planning, she was a senior advisor to Secretary Hank Paulson working extensively on financial policy, including TARP and issues ranging from tax policy to international trade and investment. At Brunswick ’s Washington DC office, Ms. DAVIS has worked on a wide range of corporate advisory, policy advocacy and crisis response projects, including BP in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in 2010. Her experience prior to Treasury included senior communications positions, managing diverse issue portfolios at the White House and in Congress. She holds a B.S. in foreign service from Georgetown University and an M.A. in economics from American University.
