No in-person events or live performances will be held at this time. Virtual events via Zoom will continue.
The gym is open yet the sauna and steam room remain closed. No more than four people are allowed at a time. Wearing a mask in the gym is required while exercising under the government’s rules. Please pre-register with the gym attendant at 2844 2849.
The Workroom will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In keeping with government requirements and best practices, all members, guests and staff must wear face masks except when eating or drinking. Hand sanitizer must be used. FCC Update on Tighter Restrictions Starting July 15

FCC Update on Tighter Restrictions Starting July 15

Dear Members:

As the Hong Kong government imposes further restrictions from July 15-July 21 to address a rise in coronavirus cases in the city, the FCC will be required to make some additional changes starting on Wednesday morning, July 15. The club will remain open yet with the following restrictions:

  • All restaurants and bars will close at 6 p.m. every day. There will be no beverage or food service after 6 p.m. except for take-away service.

  • The club will offer a special takeaway menu until 8:30 p.m.

  • No more than four people will be allowed at tables in the outlets or at groups around the bars.

  • All outlets will be reduced to 50% capacity so please book ahead for lunch, which is expected will be a busy time.

  • No in-person events or live performances will be held at this time. The staff will contact those with current event bookings in this period — including for Quiz Night and Hawaiian Night — to confirm the cancellation. The virtual Zoom events on July 15 and July 20 will proceed.

  • The gym will be closed.

The FCC will continue to restrict guests to three per member at all times.

In keeping with the government requirements and best practices, especially with an uptick in coronavirus cases, all members, guests and staff must wear face masks except when eating or drinking. Hand sanitizer must be used by all. The FCC will strictly continue the check-in, temperature-taking and declaration measures upon entry to the club, as well as the frequent cleaning protocols throughout the building.

The staff will continue to take future bookings for banquets and we hope to again plan in-person club events once the restrictions lift.

Thank you for your continued support of the FCC.

FCC Announces Revised Hours, Policies as Government Lifts Some Restrictions

FCC Announces Revised Hours, Policies as Government Lifts Some Restrictions

As the Hong Kong government begins easing restrictions on Friday 8 May related to combating the coronavirus outbreak, the FCC will reopen some parts of the club and make other relevant changes. Yet the government’s rules and our priority to the health and safety of our staff and members means that we will continue to employ social distancing throughout the club.

The changes include:

  • The gym will reopen, though given social-distancing rules we will have a limit of five people in the gym at any time, including staff, and no more than two in the changing room. The showers and changing rooms will be open yet the sauna and steam room will remain closed. Booking is required.
  • Bert’s will reopen, with limited seating at the bar and space between tables in the dining area.
  • Under the government’s new guidelines, groups of eight will be allowed so bookings will be taken for up to eight people. The club will continue to keep space between tables and promote social distancing, especially in the Main Bar area.
  • Members may bring up to three guests apiece. We will limit guests as long as extra space is required between tables.
  • Banqueting and events remain canceled, given the eight-person limit.
  • Continuation of the check-in, temperature taking and declaration measures upon entry to the club.
  • Continuation of the requirement that all members, guests and staff wear face masks except when eating or drinking, and that hand sanitizer be used by all.
  • Continuation of enhanced and frequent cleaning protocols throughout the club.

The club’s hours will be restored starting Friday.

As noted when these measures were implemented on 27 March, the club took actions to allow us to meet the government requirements yet remain open and continue to serve our members. This is key as we are a professional club that supports working journalists. Throughout this period, we have adopted measures that go beyond the government requirements and allow us to protect the health and safety of our staff, members and guests. That will continue to be our priority.

If the government rules ease further, we hope to again offer banqueting and club events, and to ease the rules in the gym.

Thank you.
