A Chat with Richard Buangan
Richard Buangan is in the region to provide an update on the new Asia-Pacific Media Hub which opened in Manila earlier this year. Some correspondents may know him as the former Spokesperson and Press Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.
Since joining the U.S. Foreign Service in 1999, Mr. Buangan has also served as Director of the Office of Digital Engagement managing the Department of State’s flagship social media platforms and creating digital strategies for the Secretary of State and the U.S. government’s global policy priorities. In addition to serving as staff assistant to Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, his overseas assignments have included Jerusalem, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire and Paris, France.
