The speaker discussed the foundation of the first multilateral development bank of the 21st century, explain the Bank’s aims and objectives, and discuss how it could help to make a difference to Asia’s mammoth infrastructure challenge. He also drew on his previous experience as a British politician and economic policy-maker to reflect on the challenges and opportunities for the United Kingdom after Brexit.
Sir Danny Alexander is Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, based in Beijing. Prior to that he was one of the architects of the UK’s coalition government and served as Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2010-2015, responsible for repairing Britain’s economy and public finances after the financial crisis.
