The 2021 Formula 1 motor racing season is turning into what the sport has been crying out for: a no-holds-barred battle between the dominant performer of the past decade, Lewis Hamilton, and the young pretender to his throne, Max Verstappen. As the season reaches its halfway point, the gloves are off and the elbows are out – recently culminating in a 180mph tangle at the British Grand Prix and Hamilton dramatically snatching the championship lead from Verstappen in Hungary. In the FCC’s first lunchtime speaker event of 2021, Fox Sports Asia’s analyst and presenter Matthew Marsh will assess the season so far, give his take on the off-track gamesmanship between the contenders, and look at how Formula 1 has managed to keep a global series alive and well in the midst of a pandemic. Moderated by Tim Huxley, FCC Second Vice President and presenter of RTHK Radio 3’s Macau Grand Prix coverage. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

During his racing career, he won the 2004 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship and went on to race at such iconic tracks as Monaco, Daytona, Bathurst, the Nurburgring and Le Mans, where he was the first Hong Kong driver to compete in the famous 24-hour race. As analyst and presenter of Fox Sports television coverage of the Formula One World Championship, Matthew is recognized as one of the most informed and connected people amongst the Asian media.
