The documentary short is 26 minutes in length, and follows a group of women in Hapur, India, as they learn how to operate a machine that makes low-cost, biodegradable sanitary pads, which they sell to other women at affordable prices. This not only helps to improve feminine hygiene by providing access to basic products, yet supports and empowers the women to shed the taboos in India surrounding menstruation – all while contributing to the economic future of their community.

Guneet Monga, executive producer of this film which won an Oscar in the Best Documentary Short category, is a BAFTA nominee and the founder of Sikhya Entertainment, a boutique film production house that produced, in addition to this documentary, notable films such as Monsoon Shootout, Peddlers and The Lunchbox, Masaan, and Zubaan.
