Ms. Chiew-Siah TEI is coming to Hong Kong at the invitation of The Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival.

She will talk about the implications and consequences of the trend to English language and literature as increasing numbers of non-native English speakers from around world write in English.

Chiew-Siah TEI is a bilingual Malaysian author. She has written columns on social issues, film, art and literature. Her first collection of prose, written in Chinese and published in 1998, It’s Snowing, is an account of her observation as an outsider in Scotland. Her first novel, Little Hut of Leaping Fishes, was long-listed for the inaugural Man Asian Literary Prize.
