Riesling Wine Dinner

“Riesling Weeks” is back in Hong Kong for its fourth running. June sees a month-long celebration of this classic German grape, which kicks off with Katharina Fladung, German Wine Princess 2015-2016, hosting a series of events including a Riesling pairing dinner specially prepared by the FCC’s chef.

About Katharina Fladung
German Wine Queens and Princesses are global ambassadors of German wine. Each year, the 13 German wine regions elect their own regional queens, who then compete for the national titles of “German Wine Queen” and “German Wine Princess.” Contestants have to go through a series of tests including blind tastings, a Q&A on wine knowledge, and presentation skills in English.

Katharina is this year’s German Wine Princess from Rheingau. Her grandfather is a part-time winemaker, and she is studying International Wine Business at the University of Geisenheim.

About Tersina Shieh
A marketer turned winemaker, Tersina’s mission is to promote wine culture in Hong Kong and China explaining wine in a no-nonsense way and inspiring the average consumer to appreciate and enjoy it. She has made wine in England, Portugal, South Africa, China, New Zealand and Australia. She also judges and writes about wine, and organises wine events.

Tersina is working with Wines of Germany to bring “Riesling Weeks” to Hong Kong.
