Actor, comedian and author Michael Palin will talk about his long and varied career in this FCC Zoom event. Much loved by fans of Monty Python around the world, he has appeared in a number of other films and the BBC’s Great Railway Journey programs. Just this year he appeared in a four-part BBC series called Michael Palin: Travels of a Lifetime, in which he looks back on his travels. We’ll talk about his comedy career, how Monty Python came into being and why it has endured, writing about travel and what it’s been like for him during the pandemic. Michael Palin established his reputation with Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Ripping Yarns. His work also includes several films with Monty Python, as well as A Private Function, Fierce Creatures and a BAFTA-winning performance as the hapless Ken in A Fish Called Wanda. Michael wrote and appeared in the films The Missionary, American Friends and the television plays East of Ipswich and Number 27. He played Jim Nelson in Alan Bleasdale’s GBH, and has presented two Great Railway Journey programmes for the BBC.
